The Red Barn Computer Story

Red Barn Computers was founded in 1996 by a small group of computer enthusiasts, who wanted to bring high performance gaming systems to the central New York Region. Red Barn was readily accepted as a local player, and quickly outgrew the local market to become a nationally known provider of high quality computer systems and High Productivity Computer clusters for research institutions.

Red Barn has very long term well established arrangements with all their vendors and has become a tier one OEM manufacturer. As the only Premier Built on Asus Dealer on the East Coast we are proud to offer the broadest line of Built to order notebooks in partnership with the Asus ASMOBILE program.

Our proven track record has shown our keen ability to carve out industry niches and rise rapidly to meet the ever changing needs of the computer industry. We try to approach our industry, from the point of view of the user, and by embracing this customer centric model our systems are engineered to deliver the richest and most fulfilling media experience.

Our systems offer a refreshing change to the industry that is known for developing cost cutting proprietary designs. Red Barn systems are built using an industry standard non-proprietary set of internal components. The resulting system is a higher quality; more modular system that performs as well, as it is reliable. Additionally the system lends itself more easily towards maintaining and upgrading. By using quality name brand components we have been able to create a very competitive and cost effective business model. This “standardized” design philosophy allows us to take full advantage of industry fluctuations and be nimble and quick to incorporate changes that enhance the overall value for the customer and increase our selling advantage. This approach has worked very well for us and has paved the way for significant sales growth while always keeping in strict control of warranty and support exposure. Simply, by cutting fewer corners we are able to consistently deliver a product that works reliably, and as intended, which in turn keeps our ever growing base of customers happy while also minimizing support costs.

While it sounds cliché we have found that quality does pay, not cost, and our customers' ongoing commitment to our products have been the final endorsement of our philosophies.
